Tamesan: The last Wizard Song 1

As daughter of Harbin’s leader, the Dragon Head, Tamesan is expected to learn the traditional crafts and behaviours of a good wife because a dragonwarrior will choose her as his partner when she comes of age. But Tam doesn’t want to be a compliant wife. She wants to explore the mountain above her village and learn more about the world. A chance encounter with the Herbal Man, a recluse healer who lives on the mountain, gives Tam an opportunity to follow in his footsteps, against her parents’ wishes.

When the Harbin dragonwarriors sail south on their annual summer pilgrimage to fight dragons, Tam’s older brother travels with them as an initiate, but tragedy strikes, and Tam’s father and brother are lucky to return alive.

For Tam, the fateful journey and her relationship with the Herbal Man reveal a dark and terrible secret that lies at the heart of her village’s culture and another secret that is hidden in the mountain, and she must choose whether to expose the lies and tell the truth that will forever change everyone’s lives in Harbin or stay silent and submit to the village's cherished beliefs and traditions.

Chasse: The Last Wizard Song 2

Haunted by the horrors of his summer initiation and caught up in the changes precipitated by the presence of a baby dragon on the mountain above his home, Chasse must do what he can to protect the people he loves while he comes to terms with an emerging relationship and his new role in the village.

Under his father's tutelage, Chasse continues his dragonwarrior training, but the return of an old foe to Harbin and the emergence of a new threat mean that Chasse must choose between the future of the village or the safety of his siblings and the treasure they are protecting.

Forced to abandon his home to protect his sister, Tam, his brother, Jaysin, and the young dragon, Chasse encounters a stranger in the mountains who shows him a different path towards overcoming his self-doubt and fears so that he can become the warrior he is destined to be.

Jaysin: the Last Wizard Song 3

Always considered different because he has no interest in becoming a warrior like his older brother, Chasse, Jaysin's fascination with learning and magic grows stronger each year, but conflict with the Kermakk Imperial Army that comes to Machutzka seeking to conscript young warriors draws him into a quest to save the lives of his sister, Tamesan, and her dragon, Harmi.

His older brother’s capture while fighting the Kermakk, lead Jaysin to the capital of the mighty Kermakk Empire to find and rescue Chasse who has become an arena fighter, but there the Karudarteta, Inaya, a sorceress and advisor to the Empire's ruler, the Karudar Marfek, offers Jaysin access to ultimate arcane mastery, if he is willing to serve her unconditionally.

Faced with the opportunity to show his siblings that he is as worthy of admiration as they are, Jaysin must decide whether to embrace the power of magic by serving the Kermakk Empire, whose leader is determined to kill his sister and her dragon, or to sacrifice his personal ambitions to save his family.

And an ancient source of magic comes alive…

Harmi: The Last Wizard Song 4

Descended from a long line of dragons and wizards, and carrying the collected memory of generations, from the moment of hatching Harmi is bonded to the young woman, Tamesan, and their fates are intertwined to the point where one cannot live without the other.

But when the Kermakk Empire rulers, who have sworn to rid the world of dragons and wizards, learn that Tamesan and Harmi exist, they set a trap to catch them both. The trap is sprung and Tamesan is imprisoned, Chasse is lost, and Jaysin is forced to serve Inaya once more, but Harmi escapes and she must choose whether to remain faithful to her bond with Tamesan or find another way to survive.

In her quest to rescue her human family, Harmi discovers her true dragon identity and the extent of her dragon powers, and the real reason why she is being hunted by the Kermakk sorceress, the Karudarteta.

The Ashuak Chronicles

Blood: The First Ashuak Chronicle

If the Dragonkin take possession of the Genesis Stone, they will be all-powerful, immortal, and nothing will withstand their vengeance against the humans who tormented them in the past - but the Alfyn Old Ones stand between Ashan’e and her Dragonkin because they stole away the Genesis Stone and keep it hidden. The key to the great dragons repossessing their future is the fulfilment of a prophecy, through a cruel bargain with the Ashuak Dragon Priests.

Grandson of a Dragon Priest, and distinguished military general, Sukaal Vekesh is commissioned to take command of Sekesu, the Ashuak Empire’s southern province, a place exploited by Ashuak merchants who build their wealth on enslavement of the local Jaru population. A soldier of honour, Vekesh finds the sordid corruption in Sekesu distasteful, but he painfully learns that greed is more important to people than respect, and the province he inherits is embroiled in a merciless struggle between the rulers and the ruled.

Against the tapestry of Jaru rebellion, led by the mysterious Death Tiger, two Jaru warriors, Shana and her brother, Kael, fight for their lives in the arena, for the entertainment of the Ashuak rulers, and become beacons of hope for the oppressed.

In the Ashuak capital, Alwyn, a Jaru orphan raised by his adoptive father as a teacher, discovers he has a fascination and capacity for magic, which attracts the attention of the Dragon Priests, who see in him the answer to the Dragonkin’s prophecy. But Alwyn is drawn to his lost Jaru heritage, and begins a quest for identity that has unforeseen consequences.

Passion: The Second Ashuak Chronicle

The Dragonkin need the Genesis Stone to immortalise their power, but their bargain with the Dragon Priests is thrown into jeopardy as the borders of the Ashuak Empire, home to the Dragon Priests, crumble. Fearing the wrath of Ashan’e and her brood, the Ashuak Dragon Priests make a political play for control of the southern province and move to train the Jaru, Alwyn, to fulfil the Dragonkin prophecy.

Sukaal Vekesh struggles to hold Ashuak control of the southern province, Sekesu, under threat from increasing rebel Jaru activity, and assassination attempts from Ashuak rivals who stand to lose wealth and status if the Jaru slave market and mines are closed. Determined to be moderate in his dealings, Vekesh learns his enemies neither trust him nor are willing to compromise. When the Emperor announces he will hold the annual Empire Games in the Sekesu capital, Vechwer, Vekesh’s responsibilities only become more complicated than he imagined.

Her brother brutally murdered in the arena, herself abused and imprisoned to labour in the marble mines, Shana survives her ordeal and escapes, intent on revenge against the Ashuak for the injustices and cruelty inflicted on the Jaru.

Alwyn, the Jaru raised as an Ashuak, travels to Sekesu, where he witnesses the oppression inflicted on his people, and the experience leaves him conflicted as to his loyalties and future. He also learns that he has inherited and is being offered greater power than any human in history, power drawn from the Dragonkin culture.

Freedom: The Third Ashuak Chronicle

Ashan’e and her Dragonkin know Alwyn is the key to the Genesis Stone, and they no longer need the Dragon Priests to help them find the Stone and defeat their ancient nemeses, the Alfyn. When Alwyn proves reluctant to serve the Dragonkin mission, preferring to serve the poor and oppressed Jaru as the Teacher, the dragons begin a ruthless campaign to round up and kill the people closest to Alwyn’s heart, and force him to fulfil the prophecy.

The Ashuak Empire was built on the might of the dragons, but when the dragons no longer respond to the Dragon Priests’ calls the Empire’s enemies seize the opportunity to break the imperialist shackles and take revenge on the once-fearsome Ashuak. Sukaal Vekesh is tasked with defending the fragile Empire against military forces determined to destroy the world he knows, and must survive by trusting his enemies with his life.

Spurred by the miraculous return of Shana, and the legend of the Death Tiger, the Jaru armies clash with the Ashuak, but are driven to defend themselves in a final stand on the ancient hilltop fortress of Emerald. An old foe uses the siege as an opportunity to capture the Death Tiger, and Shana sees a chance to be avenged.

Caught in the wars between human nations, and the impending war between the Dragonkin and the Alfyn, Alwyn must decide how to use the wells of knowledge and magical power he has acquired. If he is the key to the prophecy, is he also the key to its outcome?

Guardians: Andrakis Book 1

Possession of the Five Ki of magic is Terin’s obsession, his key to acceptance and honour among the Aelendyell, and he will do anything to obtain them – steal and kill, if necessary. His determination and desperation, even when sent into exile, leads him to the arcane prison of an ancient Dragonlord, where he can’t help but tamper with the magical locks…

In The Vale, far from the kingdom’s world of politics and trade and war, Andra is intent on learning the lore of The Way from the Guardian Master so he can take his place among the Guardians of The Vale to protect his village, but when the King’s elite Haardrishii warriors come to take young men to the capital, to serve in the army in a war against the invading Haagii from the north, Andra has no choice but to go along. The people of Thana, though, have no understanding of the potency of the enemy preparing to sweep down upon them from Uz Erhaag…

Circling behind the fates of Terin and Andra is an ancient prophecy concerning the second coming of the dragonlords and the one destined to face and defeat them.

Kingmaker: Andrakis Book 2

With Dragonlord Mareg Dru’artha Sutnavanistra preparing to conquer the world, A Ahmud Ki faces the challenge of unravelling an ancient prophecy concerning the sword of Aian Abreotan, the hero who brought down the Dragonlords of old – or can he manufacture an incarnation of the prophecy to suit his own aspirations to become a Dragonlord?

Abandoned for dead, after the crushing defeat of the Kingdom armies on The Rim Shield, Andra learns the world is more mysterious than he imagined as he returns to health among the Aelendyell. Resolved to return to his home in The Vale, he makes his way to the capital, but the intervention of a young girl, his friends and a prophecy conspire to change his fate.

Dragonlords: Andrakis Book 3

Andra returns to the city, bearing Abreotan’s fabled weapon, hailed as the one prophesied to defeat the Dragonlord, and the Kingdom’s hopes for defeating Mareg the Dragonlord are high. But A Ahmud Ki has darker designs for the new king. He enthrals Andra, and uses him as a tool to increase his personal power, while he transforms into a new variant of the Dragonlords and takes revenge on the Aelendyell who he has despised for years.

Caught in the epic struggle between the old Dragonlord and the new one, Andra’s friends search for a way to free him from A Ahmud Ki’s thrall, willing to sacrifice themselves to ensure the ancient prophecy foretelling the Dragonlords’ fates is fulfilled.
